Microsoft Sells 1 Million Office 365 Home Premium Subscriptions

Microsoft announced today that it has sold over 1 million Office 365 Home Premium subscriptions since the service went live just 100 days ago. The new Office is now the fastest-selling version of the product yet with more than one sold every second, Microsoft says.

As far as I’m concerned, Office 365 Home Premium is a no-brainer, especially for families with two or more Office users. Check out my Office 365 Home Premium review for the details.

But let me reiterate a salient point: I believe that this new subscription-based licensing model is going to change things forever, and that by making the subscription so compelling, as they did with this offering, Microsoft will speed up the transition away from traditionally packaged software products.

Oh, and there’s a fun infographic. Of course. :)
