Microsoft Beefs Up Project Online with New App Acquisitions
Microsoft has made new acquisition in an effort to improve its Project management services in the Cloud.

It’s been a while since Microsoft’s Project application has received any notable enhancements. The project planner/tracker app requires an acquired taste, but is used often in Enterprise environments to track, assign, and manage large jobs.
Microsoft has been on an acquisition tear lately, choosing to acquire new cross-platform apps instead of building its own. To that end, the company today is announcing that it has acquired new apps from partners Sensei Project Solutions, Inc. and Projectum ApS.
Here’s what you can expect to see soon…
From Sensei Project Solutions, Inc.:
Sensei Task Manager – Enter timesheets and update task statuses. Works with iPhone, Android and Windows Phone platforms.
Sensei Project Dashboard – A project dashboard to keep updated on projects. Works with the iPad.
Sensei Portfolio Dashboard – Produces reports for visibility into projects and resources. Works with iPad and Project Online.
…and, from Projectum ApS:
Project Financials – Helps manage project costs, benefits, and forecasts.
Project Snapshot – Produces snapshots for budget, cost, KPIs, and other things.
The new apps will be integrated directly into the Project Online service soon. Sensei received the Microsoft Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) Partner of the Year award in 2014, while Projectum received the same award in 2015.
