The euro sign or symbol (€) is not difficult to insert into a Microsoft Word document. To type the euro symbol (€) in Microsoft Word for Windows, press CRTL + ALT + E.

Many international Windows versions offer their own easy ways to insert this symbol. To insert the euro symbol in most European locales, press AltGr + E. In the UK, press AltGr + 4. In Hungry and Poland, press AltGr + 5.

Additionally, you can find the euro symbol in Microsoft Word’s Advanced Symbols library. Access the Advanced Symbols library under the Insert tab. Once in the library, double-click the euro symbol to include it in your document.

NOTE: In order for these steps to work, the font you are using must support the euro symbol.

Netscape does not seem to understand the euro symbol. Also the fix also applies to True Type fonts and not Postscript.

For NT4 Terminal Server edition, with only service pack 3 installed, one could download from Microsoft a patch name EUROFIXI.exe, This patch is included in service pack 4 for the Terminal Server Edition.

Under the Terminal Server / Citrix Environment one could use also ALT 0128 for the € sign (US keyboard layout & settings).
