Get help about Microsoft Access

  • Click the Help menu and choose one of the many options you have to look for answers to your questions.

  • Press the f1 key for help. 

  • Press shift+f1 for “What’s This?” help. Your mouse pointer will turn into a question mark.  You can then click on a button, menu command, or option, and a brief description will appear.

  • Connect to Microsoft’s site. Click the Help menu and you will find commands that will connect you to the Microsoft Office website if you are connected to the Internet.  There, you’ll find downloads, patches, fixes, answers to common questions, a support database and additional help topics. Key Microsoft Office help sites include:

  • Don’t forget to look at the sample databases, including Northwind.mdb.  If you can’t find them on your system, search the Microsoft Office CD-ROM.
