Skype 5.6 for iPhone Optimized for All Screen Sizes

Microsoft released a new version of Skype today for iPhone, and it's going one aim only: To ensure that this app looks nice on any supported iPhone screen. This is an issue because Apple still supports the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5/5S/5C, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in its latest OS, and each of which features a different screen size and resolution.

"Now whether you're using an iPhone 4 or an iPhone 6+ you'll get the best Skype experience for your screen size," Microsoft's Lara Kingwell writes in a new post to the Skype Garage & Updates blog.

There's no real rocket science: Microsoft isn't so much customizing or change the display or Skype as it is reliably showing more information on the bigger screens. So if you have a larger-sized iPhone, you will see more contacts, more of your chat, or whatever.

Skype 5.6 is the second release of Skype for iPhone that specifically targets iOS 8, Microsoft says. The first such update shipped in late September and supported the new iOS notifications.
