The other day, I reported on Q1 2010 PC market share. Today, Apple released its quarterly results for the same time period, noting that it sold 2.94 million Macs. Since PC makers sold 81.7 million PCs, the Mac's share of the worldwide PC market is now 3.6 percent . The Mac grew at 33 percent, year over year, higher than the wider industry, which grew at 25.8 percent in the same time period. Apple has slowly but steadily grown its market share over the years. In the first quarter of 2008 , the Mac owned 3.26 percent of the market. A year later, in Q1 2009 , it owned 3.36 percent of the market.
