Good morning afternoon, and happy Friday. It's snowing ... again. This has been a somewhat notable winter in that sense.
Let's get to the important stuff first: DUKE NUKEM FOREVER IS ARRIVING ON MAY 3, 2011 for Xbox 360, Windows PCs, and PS3!!! Woo-hoo!
Mary Jo Foley writes that Microsoft is moving its Chatter-like OfficeTalk toward commercialization.
Apple is poisoning Chinese workers and doesn't seem to care. Should we? No. Apple is perfect. What the hell is wrong with you?
Stuxnet may be the Hiroshima of our time. Wrong again. In this (incorrect) metaphor, Iran's nuclear reactors would be the Hiroshima of our time, and Stuxnet would be the Little Boy of our time. But even that is wrong: Stuxnet was more like the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, a preemptive strike. Geesh. Get your metaphors right there, buddy.
Avoiding an iPad-induced panic. Easy, don't buy one. Or did you mean some other kind of panic?
Lenovo and NEC are apparently talking about a merger of PC businesses.
Fortune argues that Steve Jobs is a wonder, but he is not a one-man $300 billion corporation. Fortune is incorrect. You cannot replace Steve Jobs, sorry. And that $300 billion company would have been so much dust in the wind without him.
