Verifying the Download

After you download Windows Privacy Tools (WinPT), use the md5sum.exe program (which you can download at http://downloads.activestate.com/contrib/md5sum/Windows) to verify the installation package. Place md5sum.exe in the same directory as the WinPT installation file, then open a command prompt. Navigate to the installation directory and type

md5sum.exe winpt-install-1.0rc2.exe

The resulting 32-character MD5 hash should match the hash that appears on the WinPT download Web site. If it doesn't, your installation file is corrupted and you need to download a new copy.
