Microsoft announced the release of a new guide, "Improving Web Application Security: Threats and Countermeasures," designed to help developers create hack-resistant applications. The five-part guide includes sections on threat identification and modeling, secure application design, defensive coding techniques, and how to secure your application's interrelated network. The guide also includes a set of evaluation tools. The evaluation tools include 10 checklists and nine how-to guides. Those interested in the guide can download a copy (5.6MB) in PDF format from Microsoft's Web site.
