UPDATE: Expect a Critical Adobe Flash Update Today (Now Available)
Adobe is prepping a new update to protect users from it's Flash product.
July 8, 2015
Anyone that suggests that Adobe's Flash is a secure piece of technology hasn't ever used a PC. Period. So, it's amazing to me that we are a) still using it, and b) still allowing Adobe to distribute it. But, at least the company hasn't given up on updating it just yet. And, it takes some effort, considering Flash has to be patched regularly.
A new Flash vulnerability has surfaced, and Adobe has promised to deliver updates today.
The vulnerability is rated as critical and an exploit has already been published publicly. No platform is safe, either. Affected software and platforms:
Adobe Flash Player 18.0.0.194 and earlier versions for Windows and Macintosh
Adobe Flash Player Extended Support Release version 13.0.0.296 and earlier 13.x versions for Windows and Macintosh
Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.468 and earlier 11.x versions for Linux
