Someone who decided to take advantage of people's inevitable typographical errors has set up a Web site at Googkle dot com.  The site, registered to appear as though it's owned by someone in St. Petersburg Russia, is designed to infect a system with a lot of malware.

I felt a little adventurous today so I popped over and checked it out. Of course I took the safe road over by using a telnet client instead of a Web browser. Based on what I saw, Google isn't the only one whose identity is being misused. If the visitor has Javascript enabled the site will open a pop-up window that mimicks the search site at MSN.com, but the domain name used is actually msmn dot com. That domain is also registered to the same person, allegedly in Russia.
