Microsoft Overhauls their Windows IT Center Portal for IT Pros

As IT Pros the world of technology is constantly changing so it is important to have good resources available to keep up to speed with those changes.

Microsoft's newly redesigned Windows IT Center, formerly known as the Windows TechCenter, provides IT Pros a one stop shop to access all of Microsoft's IT related resources.

From the main page of the Windows IT Center, you will find a new drop down menu system with links to information about the following subjects:

  • Windows 10

  • Windows 10 Mobile

  • Windows 10 for Education

  • Windows Server 2016

  • Surface

  • Surface Hub

  • Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack

  • Previous Versions of Windows

There are also quick download links for the following Microsoft software:

  • Windows 10 Enterprise Evaluation

  • Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)

  • Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK)

  • Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit (MAP)

  • Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT)

There is a link to the support pages for Windows IT Pros with categorized resources in the forums for Windows 10 and other Microsoft technologies so that you can get peer to peer support for any issues you may be experiencing. A full search interface for the Microsoft Knowledge Base is on the same support page so that you do not have to leave the website to search that resource.

IT Pros can also contribute to the TechNet Library through GitHub to provide recommended edits and additions for the collection of Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile documentation that is on the site.

You will need a GitHub account to contribute to the documentation repository.

But, wait...there's probably more so be sure to follow me on Twitter and Google+.

Senior Content Producer, IT Pro Today (Informa Tech)

I served for 29 plus years in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer in November 2011. My work background in the Navy was telecommunications related so my hobby of computers fit well with what I did for the Navy. I consider myself a tech geek and enjoy most things in that arena.

My first website – AnotherWin95.com – came online in 1995. Back then I used GeoCities Web Hosting for it and WindowsObserver.com is the result of the work I have done on that site since 1995.

In January 2010 my community contributions were recognized by Microsoft when I received my first Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award for the Windows Operating System. Since then I have been renewed as a Microsoft MVP each subsequent year since that initial award. I am also a member of the inaugural group of Windows Insider MVPs which began in 2016.

I previously hosted the Observed Tech PODCAST for 10 years and 317 episodes and now host a new podcast called Faith, Tech, and Space.

I began contributing to Penton Technology websites in January 2015 and in April 2017 I was hired as the Senior Content Producer for Penton Technology which is now Informa Tech. In that role, I contribute to ITPro Today and cover operating systems, enterprise technology, and productivity.
