Metasploit 3.1 Now Available

Metasploit 3.1 was released over this past weekend. The new version has "a graphical user interface, full support for the Windows platform, and over 450 modules, including 265 remote exploits."

The new windows graphical interface was developed by Fabrice Mourron with help from H.D. Moore. It has a "wizard-based exploitation system, a graphical file and process browser for the Meterpreter payloads, and a multi-tab console interface."

Metasploit 3.1 was also completely rewritten in the Ruby scripting language. In a blog post original Metasploit developer H D Moore said, "Metasploit 3.1 consolidates a year of research and development, integrating ideas and code from some of the sharpest and most innovative folks in the security research community."
