When your Panasonic DVCPRO50 video tape recorder is connected to a Texas Instruments 1394 host controller, or to a VIA Technologies host controller, turning on the video recorder power switch causes it to be improperly enumerated.

To workaround this behavior:

1. Disconnect the Panasonic DVCPRO50 video tape recorder from the host controller.

2. Turn on the video recorder's power switch.

3. Connect the Panasonic DVCPRO50 video tape recorder to the host controller.
