You never know what you might find on used MP3 player, or used hard disk for that matter. A New Zealand man was surprised to learn that his $18 used iPod purchase yielded sensitive US military data.
According to TVNZ, Chris Ogle bought a used iPod for $18 at an Oklahoma thrift shop. When he connected the device to a computer and had a look at the contents he found personnel records of soldiers who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
It goes to show that one can never be too careful about blocking certain types of device connectivity, especially USB devices.
