A. When you try to install Outlook Web Access (OWA) 5.5 on Win2K, you might receive the following error message:

Setup has detected that you are not running a set of Windows NT related fixes required for Outlook Web Access. Please see the Release Notes for further instructions.Microsoft Exchange Server SetupID no: c1037997

To resolve this problem, perform the following steps:

  1. Copy the I386 folder from the CD-ROM to a local hard disk.

  2. Rename either srvrmax.exe or srvrmin.exe to setup.exe.

  3. Run setup.exe.

This solution works because Win2K has some special code that recognizes Exchange setup and makes some versioning allowances, but it understands only setup.exe. Renaming the other setup files resolves the issue.
