What is the upgrade to large table option in Outlook?

A. Microsoft Outlook 98 has a feature, "Allow upgrade to largetables," for Personal Folder (.pst) files. This feature increases thelimit on the number of folders per file and the number of messages per folderin a .pst file. The limit has been increased from approximately 16,000 foldersper file and messages per folder to approximately 64,000. This upgrade ispermanent and cannot be undone.

To enable the upgrade on the Internet Mail Only version of Outlook 98perform the following:

  1. Start Outlook

  2. Right-click the Folder List, and select Properties on the context menu.

  3. Click the Advanced button.

  4. Click "Allow upgrade to large tables."

  5. Click OK and OK.

To enable on the Corporate Workgroup version:

  1. Start Outlook

  2. On the Tools menu, click Services.

  3. Click to select the Personal Folders service, and click Properties.

  4. On the General tab, click "Allow upgrade to large tables."

  5. Click OK.
