April 12, 2012
Presented by: Billy Hollis
Running By: 56 min
Developers coming from older user interface technologies sometimes take a while to become familiar with some of the most useful and prominent visual effects in XAML. This session will help you with the basics of colors and brushes, including various ways to gain translucency. You'll learn how to use the composition model in XAML for layered effects and how to use images effectively. You'll see advanced techniques for gradients, including opacity gradients, and how to apply an OpacityMask to tie together various visual elements. With these techniques, you'll have the raw material to make your applications more attractive and give your users better visual feedback as they use your application.
