Receive a document for review

When you receive a document sent via Lotus Notes for review, open the document:

  • Double-click the attachment in the e-mail message. Choose File → Save As and save the document to your disk. Make your changes and save your revised version. Reply to the original e-mail message without the original attachment, attaching your revised version instead.

  • Right-click the attachment in the e-mail message and choose Save. Save the document to your disk. Make your changes and save your revised version. Reply to the original e-mail message without the original attachment, attaching your revised version instead.Consider saving the document with a filename that indicates your name as the reviewer, for example: Report rev Dan.doc.

  • (New in Notes 6.5) Right-click the attachment in the e-mail message and choose Edit. The document will be opened in Word. Make your changes and click Save. Your revision will replace the original attachment in the e-mail message. Choose Reply With Attachments to send your revision back to the author.

In Word 2003, when you open the document using any of the above options, the document opens in the Reading view.

  • You can change views using the View menu or by clicking Close in the Reading Layout toolbar.

Make sure the Reviewing toolbar is visible. If it is not:

  • Chose View ? Toolbars ? Reviewing.
