Some Web sites are programmed to identify Internet Explorer 6 as the most current version of Internet Explorer. When you visit these sites with Internet Explorer 7, it identifies Internet Explorer 7 as an outdated version.

If the site does not function properly, Download and use the User Agent String Utility to temporarily make Internet Explorer 7 appear as Internet Explorer 6.

To use the User Agent String Utility:

1. Double-click the User Agent String Utility icon.

2. Select the Just change my settings radial button.

3. Press the Change Settings button.

A window opens that contains:

The title of this window indicates what version of Windows Internet Explorer web sites will think you are running.

"User Agent String Workaround - Windows Internet Explorer emulating version 6.0"
"User Agent String Workaround - Windows Internet Explorer" (v7.0 default title)

Any new tab or new windowopened from within this window will also inherit the same settings. The settings will revert to version 7.0 when the windows are closed.

You may open a Windows Internet Explorer version 7.0 window by clicking on Internet Explorer in the Start Menu or by clicking on a Internet Explorer icon that you may have on your desktop. Any Internet Explorer windows that were open prior to running this tool will be Internet Explorer version 7.0 windows, as will any new tabs or windows opened from them.

- To create a new Internet Explorer tab, select File->New Tab (Ctrl-T) from the Internet Explorer menu.
- To create a new Internet Explorer window, select File->New Window (Ctrl-N) from the Internet Explorer menu.

This utility should only be used to navigate web sites that have problems recognizing or displaying Internet Explorer version 7.0. Continuing to use this workaround may cause problems for other sites. You should close all the open “Windows Internet Explorer emulating version "6.0" windows as soon as you are through using them. To create another window emulating Internet Explorer version 6.0, you will need to run the User Agent String Utility again.

Your current user agent string is:
