Microsoft has a 7.1 test file in both WAV and WMA, but you haven't lived until you've checked out Bungie's Halo test.

A: Microsoft actually provides a 7.1 test file in both WAV and WMA format as part of its Creating 7.1 Audio documentation. Navigate to the bottom of the page for a download of the 7.1 test files.
It’s not quite as cool as the 5.1 test from Bungie (a part of the Halo 2 extras, which tested via a Halo 2 Grunt and Hunter).
You can find the 5.1 Bungie Halo 2 Surround Sound Test FAQ at Bungie.net/projects and the direct file at Bungie’s download site.
