Q. I'm using AT&T U-verse and my Gateway is showing many computers that no longer exist on my network. How can I remove them?
February 22, 2010
A. On my network, I'm constantly creating and deleting OS instances. Each time I create an OS instance and connect it to the network, the AT&T gateway discovers the device and adds it to the list of known devices. Eventually I had over 85 showing, and new machines were no longer being displayed.
There's no way to delete devices using the normal web-based GUI. The solution is to use the Management and Diagnostic Console, which can be found at http://192.168.1.1/mdc.
Once you're in the MDC, select the Resets link under the Troubleshooting section. Click the Clear button for Local Network and all devices will be removed and re-added as they're discovered on the network again. I performed this process, and new OS instances were once again discovered and displayed in the gateway management interface.
