A. can't modify which snap-ins are displayed in the built-in MMC Server Manager console. However, you can use the following steps to create a custom MMC console, add Server Manager, then modify which snap-ins are displayed:

  1. Start the MMC snap-in by clicking Start, Run, then MMC.

  2. From the File menu, select Add or Remote Snap-ins.

  3. Select Server Manager, then click Add, as the following screen shot shows:

  4. Next, select Server Manager in the Selected snap-ins section, then click Edit Extensions.

  5. Select Enable only selected extensions.

  6. Clear the check boxes of the snap-ins you don't want displayed, as the following screen shot shows, then click OK:

  7. Click OK again to finish.

The Server Manager display won't include the snap-ins you cleared. The following screen shot shows that the two snap-ins I cleared in the earlier screen shot—Event Viewer and Reliability and Performance Monitor Extension—are no longer displayed.
