Using REG.EXE, built into Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and later operating systems, or installed from the Windows 2000 Support Tools, I have scripted LockIETB.bat to lock the Internet Explorer 7 toolbars.

The syntax for using LockIETB.bat is:

[call] LockIETB

NOTE: See tip 11069 How can a script determine if the Internet Explorer 7 Toolbars are locked?

LockIETB.bat contains:

@echo offsetlocalcall :quiet >nul 2>&1endlocalgoto :EOF:quietset key1="HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerToolbar"reg ADD %Key1% /V Locked /T REG_DWORD /F /D 1
