A: The Key Management Services (KMS) component in Windows lets an organization’s internal server activate clients. A special key is used to activate the KMS server with Microsoft Clearinghouse. By default, an organization’s KMS key can be used to activate six KMS hosts within the organization.
However, if you need more than six, you can email Microsoft at [email protected] to add additional activations for your KMS key. Organizations can also call a local activation center. To find out more about that option, see the Microsoft website.
