Get NT Workstation 4.0 preinstalled

Welcome to the first monthly Windows NT Magazine buyer's guide. Each month, we'll select a hardware or software product category, and provide you with a list of vendors, descriptions of their products, and prices. This month, we present notebook computers that ship with NT Workstation 4.0 preinstalled and cost less than $3500. These systems have desktop system processing power, use Intel technology, contain 4GB to 6.4GB of hard disk space, and include 56Kbps modems, CD-ROM drives, and mobile Pentium-, Celeron-, or Pentium II-based systems. Most of the notebooks include 64MB of Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM); however, a few systems have only 32MB of SDRAM, which might dissatisfy some Microsoft Outlook and Office suite users.

These systems are inexpensive and fast. We hope you'll find one that's right for you. (Considering the volatility of the notebook computer market, some manufacturers might lower or raise their prices before this information reaches you in print.) For a list of future buyer's guide topics or to learn how to include your product in an upcoming buyer's guide, go to http://www.winntmag.com/ sh/ntlab/index.cfm.
