JSI Tip 9806. When you print a document that uses the Garamond font, the character spacing may overlap or have too much space?

The subject behavior is the result of incompatibilities between some hardware-associated Garamond fonts and the printing systems in Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

To fix this problem, configure the printer to use a soft font instead of the internal (built-in) font, or install a PCL5e printer driver.

To configure the printer to use a soft font instead of the resident font:

1. Right-click the printer in Printers and Faxes and press Properties.

2. Select the Device Settings tab.

3. Select the Garamond font in the Font substitution table and select Download As Soft Font in the drop-down lost.
