JSI Tip 9358. Xfind.exe is a freeware substitue for the Windows Explorer Search for File and Folders.

Download xq-xfind.zip, a GUI tool to Search for File and Folders, including an optional text search within files.

The readme.txt file contains:

In this case, X-Find can be started by selecting Start - Programs - Tiny Tools - X-Find._____________________________________________________REMOVE To remove this program, select Start - Settings -  Control Panel and use the "Software" icon._____________________________________________________XTEQ X-FIND  X-Find is a small and fast file-search utility.  First, select the folder, where X-Find should search,  in the left panel. Then enter a file pattern  (for example, "*.*" or "*.TXT") and, optionally,  insert a text that should be found inside the files  that mach the pattern. Click the "Go" button to start  the search. The found files are displayed in the right panel. By  double-clicking on one of them it is displayed in the bottom panel. The text, that was found, is highlighted  (if this option is activated).
