When the redirector unlocks data in response to an unlock request, the action should be immediate, by default.

If you experience a delay, insure that the UseUnlockBehind Value Name, a REG_DWORD data type, at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesLanmanWorkstationParameters is set to 1.

If UseUnlockBehind is set to 0, the unlock-behind optimization feature is disabled.
