When you dual boot Windows 2000 with Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Edition, pressing F8 during the boot process presents the Windows 2000 Safe mode options.

This is normal behavior.

To boot into Windows 98 Safe mode:

1. Select Windows 98 from the boot menu.

2. Hold down the SHIFT key and press Enter.

3. Continue to hold down the SHIFT key until Windows 98 is loaded. You should see Safe mode in all four corners of the screen.
