When the Change Password dialog box contains your UPN, like [email protected], you receive a domain cannot be contacted error or a password incorrect error?

This error should only occur if:

1. The Authenticated Users group has been removed from the organizational unit that contains the user account.

2. The user is logged onto a domain member computer with a UPN suffix that does NOT match the Active Directory DNS domain name.

In the above scenario, the alternate UPN suffix, the local computer account, is used, causing the error.

To resolve this issue, either give the user read access to the organizational unit that contains the user account, or use the NTLM naming syntax, NetBIOS domain name user name (JSIINC Jerry), instead of the UPN.
