When you try to install Internet Explorer 5.x on Windows NT 4.0, you receive:

Setup was unable to download the required components. Please make sure you are connected to the Internet, or try to run Setup again later.

If the ProgramFilesDir has been altered from the default C:Program Files value, the above error will occur.

To fix the problem:

1. Use Regedt32 to navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersion.

2. Double-click the ProgramFilesDir Value Name, a REG_SZ data type, and set the data value to C:Program Files.

NOTE: If Windows NT 4.0 is not installed on the C: drive, substitute that drive letter for C:.

3. Press OK.

4. Exit Regedt32.
