JSI Tip 5111. Some LMHOSTS entries are NOT preloaded into the NetBIOS name cache?

If your local LMHOSTS file contains a #INCLUDE statement, the centralized preloaded LMHOSTS entries will NOT be displayed in the NetBIOS name cache until name resolution is attempted.

Only local #PRE entries are loaded when you start your computer.

Open a CMD prompt and type:

nbtstat -c to display the NetBIOS name cache.

Attempt name resolution and type nbtstat -c again.
