When you try to print a document, you receive:

There was an error found when printing the document to LPT1.

Do you want to retry or cancel the job?

When you use Device Manager to view the printer port information, the device is reported as inactive:

Code 29: Firmware not correctly installed.

If you uninstall the printer port and restart your computer, the printer port is detectedand you receive:

This device is disabled because the firmware of this device did not give it the required resources (Code 29).

This is generally the result of a BIOS setting.

Change your BIOS parallel port setting from OS Controlled or Automatic to Enabled.
