In tip 3644, we removed the Add/Remove Windows Components from the Add/Remove Programs applet.

If you don't remove the Add/Remove Windows Components wizard, and Windows 2000 has installed service components that are not yet configured, the Add/Remove Windows Components wizard displays a Set up services section that offers users easy access to the configuration tools.

To remove the Set up services section, implement the Go directly to Components wizard Group Policy at User ConfigurationAdministrative TemplatesControl PanelAdd/Remove Programs.

If the policy is Not configured, you can remove the Set up services section by setting the NoServices value name, a REG_DWORD data type, to 1, at HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesUninstall.
