If you receive the subject error, and/or the %SystemRoot%DebugUserModeuserenv.log contains a 0x80090324 error, there is a time difference in excess of 5 minutes between the authenticating server and a client.

The default authentication protocol for Windows 2000 is Kerberos, which requires that client and server times be within 5 minutes, or authentication will fail.

Verify that client and server have the proper time zone configured and that your network has an authoritative time server.
