When you implement the Hide Internet Explorer icon on desktop Group Policy at User ConfigurationAdministrativeTemplatesDesktop, the Internet Explorer icon is removed from the desktop and from the Quick Launch bar.

This policy is implemented by setting the NoInternetIcon value name, a REG_DWORD data type, to 1 at:
