JSI Tip 3454. How did I terminate my last Windows 2000 session?

When you use the Shut Down Windows dialog box, Windows 2000 stores the termination code for your last session in the Shutdown Setting value name, a REG_DWORD data type, at HKEY_Current_UserSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorer:

NOTE: If you change the value in the registry, the Shut Down Windows dialog box will default to that setting, the next time you invoke it. If you enter a data value that is unsupported on your computer, Shut down (0x2) becomes the default. If you simply pull the plug, or run Shutdown.exe, the last termination code is NOT updated.
