When you install an updated video driver on Windows NT 4.0, you receive:

Invalid Display settingsThe currently selected display resolution is invalidPlease use the display option in the Windows NT Control Panel to select your preferred display resolution.

When you test the video adapter, it displays any supported resolution and color depth correctly, but your desktop is only displayed in the default VGA resolution and color depth?

To correct this problem:

1. Use Regedt32.exe to navigate to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINECurrentControlSetControlGraphicsDrivers

2. If a Basevideo sub-key exists, delete it.

3. Exist Regedt32.exe.

4. Shutdown and restart your computer.
