If your System Event Log contains:

Event: 4191 Source: TCP/IP Description: IP could not open the registry key for adapter TCPIPParametersAdaptersNDISWANIP. Interfaces on this adapter will not be initialized.

You have a missing registry key, which is required for TCP/IP.

06. Right-click the appropriate connection object, and press Properties.

07. Press Install.

08. Press Protocol.

09. Press Add.

10. Select the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) protocol and press OK.

11. Configure the settings in the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog.

12. Press OK.

13. Shutdown and restart your Windows 2000 computer.
