Due to changes in Windows 2000 RRAS, the subject option is no longer available.

You can force it using any of the following methods:

Edit the Registry.

1. Set the remote access policy to Server settings define policy.

2. Use Regedt32 to navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesRemoteAccessParametersIp

On the Edit menu, Add Value name AllowClientIpAddresses as a REG_DWORD data type. Set the data value to1.

Modify the remote access 'Allow access if dial-in permission is enabled' policy.

1. Depending on how you configured user authentication, open the RRAS MMC or IAS MMC snap-in.

2. Select Remote Access Policies.

3. Right-click Allow access if dial-in permission is enabled, and press Properties.

4. Press Edit Profile on the Policy Condition dialogue.

5. Press IP on the Edit Dial-in properties dialog.

6. Press Client may request an IP address.

7. Press OK and OK.

NOTE: The above allows any client to request an IP Address. To restrict it to some clients, you must create a new policy with new conditions.

RRAS server is not a part of a domain.

If the Windows 2000 RRAS server is NOT part of a domain, My Network Places has an Incoming Connections icon which you can use:

1. Right-click My Network Places and press Properties.

2. Right-click Incoming Connections and press Properties.

3. Press Networking.

4. Press Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) and press Properties.

5. Select Allow calling computer to specify its own IP address.

6. Close My Network Places.
