In Windows NT 4.0, I used the Send To PowerToy, to add a right click in Windows Explorer, that would send the fully qualified file name to the clipboard. This PowerToy does not work in Windows 2000.

ClipName is a freeware shell extension that adds a Copy Name to Windows Explorer, and it works in Windows 2000, Windows NT, and W9x. I quote the readme:

ClipName - A free Shell Extension from MainSoft-----------------------------------------------version 1.1Very often, you want to pass the full pathname of a file as a parameterto another program and you have to type it entirely (the Copy command inthe context menu copy the file itself, not its name). How frustrating! Thefile is appearing in the right pane of Explorer and you can't copy its nameto the clipboard.ClipName is a shell extension for Windows 95 and NT 4.0 allowing tocopy the name of a file to the clipboard. Just right-click the file in theExplorer and select the "Copy Name To Clipboard" command.ClipName will also be very useful for passing a filename as a parameter toour ExecParm utility (see WEB site mentioned below). ExecParm allows you toright-click the name of a program file in the Explorer and to passcommand line parameters to this program. This new version allows to copy multiple filenames. If you select multiplefilenames, you'll be able to create a list of space separated filenameson a single line or to create a list containing one filename per line.Folder names are also supported. It is recommended to uninstall the older version before installing this newone.
