I introduced the Utility Manager in tip 2578 The Windows 2000 Magnifier and Utility Manager.

If you experience the following problems, you probably changed the Utility Manager service account:

- When you press the WINDOWS LOGO key+U at the logon screen, Utility Manager does not display.

- If Narrator runs when Windows starts, it announces Utility Manager, but Utility Manager does not display.

- After logon, opening Utility Manger produces:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error Program drive:winntsystem32UtilMan.exe Abnormal Program termination

The Utility Manager service must run under the default System account.
