After you install the DHCP Relay Agent, and restart your server, you receive:

At least one service or driver has failed to start. Check the Event log for details.

The event log contains:

Event 25017 Source: Relay Agent
No network interfaces are available for relaying messages on. The Relay Agent is exiting.

           AND

Event 7024 Source: Service Control Manager
The DHCP Relay Agent service terminated with service-specific error 1.

If you try to manually start it, you receive:

The DHCP Relay Agent service terminated with service-specific error 1.

When you installed, the bindings weren't rebuilt. The can happen if you didn't use:

Control Panel / Network / Services / Add to install the agent.

To fix the problem:

1. Control Panel / Network / Services

2. Select the DHCP Relay Agent and press Remove.

3. After the removal completes, press the Add button.

4. Select the DHCP Relay Agent and press OK.

5. Follow the on screen instructions.

6. When complete, press Close to trigger the bindings.

7. When prompted, configure the agent.

8. Restart the server, when prompted.
