JSI Tip 1803. You are notified to change your password, but get an error when you try?

When you try to change your password, after receiving a Password Change Notification, you receive:

Password on this account cannot be changed at this time.

If the minimum password age has not passed, you do not have permission to change your password.

The default Password Change Notification message appears 14 days before the Maximum Password Age. You can alter this behavior using tip 0141.

To workaround this problem, use User Manager for Domains on your PDC to set the Policies/Account such that the Maximum Password Age is greater than the Minimum Password Age + PasswordExpiryWarning.

NOTE: You must make this change on each computer in your domain.
