When a new user logs on to Windows NT the first time, IE 5 runs the personalized settings routine, even if your default profile is just as you want it.

To prevent the personalized settings from disturbing your carefully crafted default profile, use Regedit to navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftActive SetupInstalled Components

1. On the Edit menu, click Find and enter STUBPATH into the Find what.

2. Click Find Next.

3. When a STUBPATH value name is found (and selected), press Delete (if it is within the Installed Components subkey).

4. Repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 until all STUBPATH value names have been deleted from the Installed Components subkey.

5. Exit Regedit.
