In tip 1207, we learned how to restore a missing IE icon, when Active Desktop is NOT installed.

With Active Desktop, use regedt32 to navigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID\{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}ShellFolder

Double-click the Attributes value name and change the data value from 1000022 to 22.

You must shutdown and restart your computer for this change to take effect.
