JSI Tip 1200. SBS reinstall issues - "The Application Could Not Be Initialized".

When you use Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs / Add/Remove Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server, you may receive The application could not initialized.

If you run Startsam.exe, you would get the same error message.

This is caused because the SBS install files have been replaced, probably by NTOP.

To fix the problem:

C:
CD C:winnt.sbssystem32
rename sysocmgr.exe sysocmgr.old
rename ocmanage.dll ocmanage.old

Mount the SBS CD-ROM 1.

Expand i386sysocmgr.ex_ sysocmgr.exe
Expand i386ocmanage.dl_ ocmanage.dll

NOTE: You may need to reconfigure the NTOP using Sysocmgr.exe, if you did not do a default installation.
