JSI Tip 10560. You are unable to view Internet shortcuts?

When you try to view a Web page by pressing and Internet shortcut on your Favorites menu, or by double-clicking an Internet shortcut, the Web page specified in the Internet shortcut does not load.

This behavior can occur if the Internet shortcut (.URL) association is not associated with Internet Explorer.

To restore the .URL association with Internet Explorer:

1. Copy / Paste the following to an open Notepad.exe window:

2. Save the above as "FxURL.reg".

3. Right-click the FxURL.reg file and press Merge.

4. Shutdown and restart your computer.

NOTE: The behavior will may also occur if an alternate browser is installed AND the Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser option at Control Panel / Internet Options / Programs is not checked.
