When you press OK to the subject message, you receive:

Installation ErrorThe wizard was interrupted before Windows Defender could be completely installed.Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again.Click Finish to exit the wizard.

This behavior occurs because Windows 2000 does not have the required graphics device interface (GDI+) binaries.

To resolve this issue:

1. Download the Platform SDK Redistributable: GDI+ and save the file on your Desktop.

2. Double-click the Ggdiplus_dnld.exe file and then press Yes to agree to the Microsoft Software License Terms.

3. When prompted, press Browse, double-click Desktop, and press Unzip.

4. Open a CMD.EXE window.

5. Type the following command and press Enter:

Copy "%UserProfile%DesktopGdiplus.dll" %systemroot%System32Gdiplus.dll

6. Install Windows Defender (Beta 2).
